Still convinced of glory and victory, Jesus’ disciples are not excited to hear talk of betrayal and death. Even as the time draws near, the disciples have not yet been able to grasp what he has been teaching. Jesus places one of the little ones in the middle of the assembly and declares once again the upside-down nature of the good news he is offering.
