FAITH FORMATION MINISTRY: MUSIC FOR ALL AGES
They say that those who create music, pray twice. At Elim, we value the way that music can open the door to experience God in a multitude of ways. Our community has invited people of all ages and abilities to create and enjoy music together. To find out more about one of the groups below, or to offer your musical gifts to worship or play, please contact our church office and we will help you connect with our staff musicians.
CHERUB CHOIR (pictured)
Our primary focus is children ages 3-7, but older children who want to sing with us are welcome! Miss Vicki mixes fun and music into rehearsals and performances. Sessions are held in the fall (October to December) and in the spring (February to April).
CHILDREN OF LIGHT
Any children entering 2nd-5th grade who love to sing might be interested to know that the “Children of Light” choir will be rekindled in September! The plan is for them to sing once a month at the 10:30am service. Please contact Cathe Kiler, Elim’s music director, if you have a child who would be interested.
CHANCEL CHOIR Rehearsals: Wednesday, 5:30pm (not during summer) Our 8:30am worship choir—open to all who enjoy singing!
WORSHIP TEAM Rehearsals: Mondays, 7:30pm
This group leads worship at the 10:30am service every other week.
FESTIVAL CHOIR (pictured)
Two sessions a year: one during Lent before Palm/Passion Sunday and one for about 6 weeks before an Advent Sunday. New in 2018! Elim’s Festival Choir presents For the Beauty of the Earth at both services on April 22!
ALL SING CHOIR
A choir for singers who can't commit! This informal choir usually meets once per year so watch for the next opportunity. All are welcome!
Like to sing but can’t do weekly rehearsals? Cathe Kiler will organize a pick-up choir that will rehearse at 9am in the Choir Room to prepare the special music during offering that day. This is a great way to get introduced to Elim’s music programs and do something that you love. Dates to be determined.
New ding-a-lings welcome - helpful if you can read music but not necessary. Contact Cathe Kiler if you would like to participate in this session.
