MUSIC FOR ALL AGESThey say that those who create music, pray twice. At Elim, we value the way that music can open the door to experience God in a multitude of ways. Our community has invited people of all ages and abilities to create and enjoy music together. To find out more about one of the groups below, or to offer your musical gifts to worship or play, please contact our church office and we will help you connect with our staff musicians.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR
This group will meet on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:30 a.m. in between our two services in the choir room. All children in Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to join us to make a joyful noise to the Lord! Lauren offers fun instruction using warmups, solfege, rhythm games, and songs that are performed in the services several times a year. LITTLE SHEPHERD CHOIR Students attending Little Shepherd Choir meet once a week for choir practice with Lauren. They will sing in the service a few times per year. ELIM CHOIR
This group of singers meets on Wednesday nights from 6:15-7:15pm in the choir room. No prior experience needed. If you love to sing, you are welcome here! Anyone between the ages of 12 and 112 may join. We sing special music in the services every 3-4 weeks and take a break in the summer. If you want to learn more about reading music, you can join us for a short course that Lauren teaches called “Reading Music for Singers” which meets right before choir practice at 6pm on Wednesdays. Please contact Lauren Haile if you have questions or are interested in joining. |
THE BAND
This group leads worship every week at the 10:45am service. If you have experience playing guitar, bass, piano, drums, or solo singing you may be a good fit for this group. The unique blending of acoustic, electric instrumentation, drums, vocal harmonies, and World Music percussion, complements the service music and is designed to encourage participation by worshipers regardless of their musical background. Please contact Lauren Haile if you have questions or are interested in joining. |
