Matthew quotes Hebrew scripture often, regularly placing Jesus in the context of Jewish history.
· Matthew takes Joseph’s perspective on the conception, announcement, and birth of Jesus, pointing out the challenging position Joseph was put into by this unplanned and untimely birth.
