| Hello Church, My husband, Pr. Thomas Gable, shared this video with me. It actually comes from Holden Village (a wonderful retreat center in the state of Washington). I thought it was beautiful, and well worth passing along to Elim folks! It's a musical poem by Joe Davis - who Pr. Thomas saw when he was at the National Youth Gathering in Detroit a few years ago. This line brought to mind the sacrament of Holy Communion: “Join me at the table for it is wide and there is lots of food to eat.” All are welcome, and the supply of food is limitless. Towards the middle of the video he says, “here there is no grace period; there’s only grace, period!” Isn’t this what our faith is about? It's all about God’s grace--period! Finally, he says “this is my encouragement to you all….” With all that is going on in our world and right outside our doors with the air quality right now, I hope and pray that you may be encouraged and uplifted by this video too. God's peace & JOY, Pr. Kathryn |
