Greetings sisters and brothers in Christ,
I enjoy talking with the people who come to gather food at our Food Pantry each week. They often tell me to thank all of you for hosting it. Last week, one of the guests gave me the following words to a hymn she wrote – sung to the tune, “Bringing in the Sheaves”. She asked me to share it with Elim folks – so here it is! I think it’s wonderful!
We can gather pumpkins
While bringing in the sheaves
Harvest time has come and we can have some fun
While we are preparing for winter yet to come
As we feed each other
The bounty from our mother
Remember at this harvest time
Be kind to one another.
