Reflection on the Texts
God is the final judge and jury, and the verdict is in… we are acquitted of all wrongdoing. Is there anything in this world or the world beyond that can overturn such a ruling? Is there anything that can condemn humanity if God has already forgiven it? No, of course. In those times when it seems as though a greater evil is at work in our lives, we have the gift of God’s Holy Spirit to remind us that there is something greater than suffering – salvation through God’s love – and it is ours because of the saving work of Jesus Christ.
Elim's weekly worship services focus on the Narrative Lectionary, which follows the sweep of the biblical story arranged in a narrative sequence to help us see Scripture as a story that has coherence and a dynamic movement. The arc of Elim's Biblical teachings are rooted in this understanding of scripture.
