Sermon: The Task at Hand
In the second of the Creation stories we find in the Bible, we are told about the time before names, when the earth was yet young, and fertile. A time when humanity was represented by just one person in a garden, and we had not yet determined what to do with this generous gift of a world.
Elim's weekly worship services focus on the Narrative Lectionary, which follows the sweep of the biblical story arranged in a narrative sequence to help us see Scripture as a story that has coherence and a dynamic movement. The arc of Elim's Biblical teachings are rooted in this understanding of scripture.
