Theme: The Two Ways
Sermon: Pastor Patrick Torbit - "Way Cool"
Scripture: Revelation 21:1-6 and 22:1-5
Point: God was introduced as the Creator in Rev 4 and God's final great act consists of new creation. The defeat of the forces of evil does not ring about the annihilation of the earth. Rather, it leads to God saying "I make all things new" (21:5)
Sermon: Pastor Patrick Torbit - "Para Para Paradise"
Scripture: Revelation 17:1-6 and 19:11-16
Point: The harlot is obsessed with luxury and conspicuous consumption. She is violent and yet alluring. The imagery describes the seductive power of materialism and society's fascination with violence.
Sermon: Pastor Patrick Torbit - "Elephants, Donkeys, Uncle Sam, and Babylon the Great"
Scripture: Acts 2:1-4; Revelation 13:1-18
Point: Acts - Jesus' followers receive the holy spirit; Revelation - The beast is the opposite of the Lamb, who gives people their true identity. The beast conquers by tyranny (13:7) but the Lamb conquers by the sacrifice that frees.
