Every church handles services a bit differently. I grew up in a church in Texas where children attended "Sunday School" while the parents attended "Big" Church. Different faith experiences for different developmental levels. At Elim, we have two church services separated by an Education Hour. So, adults have the opportunity to bring their children to "Big" church either before or after Faith Formation. I will admit that, as a parent, I am not good about this. Usually, I am preparing for class during the first service and I am cleaning up after class during the second service. Also, the thought of taking a wiggly 6-yr-old into the Sanctuary isn't always appealing. So why bother?
I just saw this article on Facebook and it changed my mind about the importance of having children attend a full service.
