You can change SEW many lives!
Saturday, May 27
Elim Fellowship Hall
Our first work day was so fun and productive that we are adding another! Elim’s Craft Ministry invites you to participate in the Petaluma Team of Days for Girls’ work day on May 27.
Days for Girls is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and distributing cloth menstrual supplies for girls in developing nations. Too often, girls miss school or drop out entirely once their menses start. The team will be sewing 3 of the components that go into the Days for Girls kits: drawstring bag, liners (similar to pads), and the shield that the pads fit into. Their website has great information and photos to explain all this.
We will need sewers and non-sewers alike. The components are not difficult to make so bring your sewing machine if you have a portable one and basic sewing supplies. You could also bring dark POLYESTER thread and pre-washed fabrics. Doesn’t hurt to bring snacks to share, either! If you are interested, please contact Amanda Cummings.
We will be collecting laundered fabric donations – leave in the collection bin in the Welcome Area or bring to the Craft Brunch Bunch gatherings on Saturdays.
