That brings us to Godly Play. Godly Play is different from other Sunday school programs in that all lesson materials stay in the room all the time. During the Summer, we prep all the lessons for the year so that they are ready to go for the first day of Sunday School on September 14, 2014. This means that Godly Play teachers only have to come to class knowing the story lesson for the week. There are no lesson items or crafts to prepare. Although we would love to purchase the official Godly Play lessons for our program, these can be quite expensive. We try to stretch our budget by crafting everything we can using materials from the Resource Room. Preparing a year's worth of lessons is a lot of work! If you have even the most basic crafting ability and would be willing to help this Summer, please contact Amy Malaise. If you still want to help but don't want to craft, we would love monetary donations to help us purchase lessons directly from the Godly Play Foundation.
There are also supplies that we always need for the classroom. Number one on the list is more shelving! We need low shelving units on which to store the lessons. We are also always in need of craft supplies for the kids including watercolor paper, 11 x 17 paper of all kinds, scotch tape, baskets and more! Please check with Amy Malaise or Susie McGavin if you would like to help!
